Carnegie Celebrates Jazz

On September 20th the non-profit organization, Carnegie Arts Initiative will again hold the fourth year of jazz in Carnegie. All of the proceeds from this celebration go towards providing musical instruments with lessons, and professional voice lessons to underprivileged children whose parents cannot otherwise afford music lessons. This is the one of Carnegie Arts Initiative's ways of promoting the arts.

Please get your tickets in advance of the event. Tickets are selling fast. Tickets are available at Riley's Pour House, 3rd Street Gallery, or by calling the Carnegie Arts Inititative at 412-489-5737. Tickets will also be sold at a table outside of Riley's the evening of the Carnegie Crawl, Friday, September 11.

Cole has performed and recorded with the great vocalese artist Eddie Jefferson, the Manhattan Transfer, Bobby Enriquez, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Stitt, Art Pepper, Tom Waits, Boots Randolph, and Nancy Wilson, to name just a few of his musical collaborations. Notably, Cole has performed at the Village Vanguard and Carnegie Hall as well as gave a command performance for the Queen of England.

"Internationally Inspired"

Pittsburgh Society of Artists Guild (PSA) presents "Internationally Inspired: A Response to the 2013 Carnegie International" a juried multimedia exhibit at the 3rd Street Gallery located at 220 3rd Street Carnegie, Pennsylvania. "Internationally Inspired" is a creative response by members of PSA to the 2013 Carnegie International. PSA membership embodies a diverse group of artists working in many different media not unlike those selected for the Carnegie 2013 International. After viewing, reading and researching the exhibit PSA members used their artistic creativity to channel their reactions.

There will be copies of the book available for purchase for $11.00, along with mugs, decals, and artwork with Ian Ebbitt's poems on them.
